Trump's Horrid Ugly Bill
An uncertain future

I am still reeling from the passing of Trump’s so-called Big Beautiful Bill, signed on July 4th.
Cutting programs from the vulnerable, disabled, and elderly to give more to the richest just turns my stomach.
I have been disabled for 35 years and rely on food stamps and Medicaid. I’ve been a nervous wreck all last week, and especially after the bill passed.
I suppose I am naïve, because I couldn’t believe the bill passed. How can Trump and the lawmakers who voted for this sleep at night?
What is going to happen to the elderly who are on Medicaid and permanently live in nursing homes?
My father passed away in 1992, and was extremely intelligent and followed politics. I can only imagine what he would think of the state of the world today. He wouldn’t believe it, because it is hard to believe.
I have read they just want to take away Medicaid from those who abuse it, and want people who are capable of working to work. They want to implement six-month check-ins rather than the current yearly check-ins.
How are they going to accomplish that? I heard someone on television say they don’t even have enough manpower to have check-ins every six months.
How will they determine who is capable of working? Are they going to require everyone on Medicaid to undergo a physical with a government doctor? That would take years.
Currently, they conduct passive renewals. I don’t have to fill out paperwork yearly. They send paperwork with everything already filled in.
I certainly don’t know what to believe because Trump is a consummate liar.
I’ve lived on Social Security Disability for decades, since I was 28. Believe me, it is not enough to live on. I need Medicaid to cover the 20 percent that Medicare does not cover. I need food stamps for groceries.
If I didn’t have a very generous brother, I would never be able to pay all of my monthly bills.
Why aren’t the millionaires and billionaires speaking out against this?
Are all the people who voted for the bill and are benefiting from it selfish and immoral? Do they lack hearts and compassion? How can they think this is right?
We are called the United States of America. That is untrue; we are not united.
Every day that I wake up, I am amazed by the world we live in. I can’t believe that our country is being led by someone who obviously only cares about himself and his cronies. He doesn’t care about the little people.
I don’t know if it is scarier that he is our president or scarier that so many people in our country voted for him.
